News: 10 Million Tourists! Oh Yeah!

In 2023, the Dominican Republic achieved a significant milestone by welcoming an impressive 10 million tourists to its shores. This remarkable accomplishment highlights the country's position as a premier tourist destination in the Caribbean region. The achievement is a testament to the Dominican Republic's diverse and appealing attractions, ranging from pristine beaches and lush landscapes to vibrant cultural experiences.

The country has invested heavily in its tourism infrastructure, providing world-class resorts, excellent transportation options, and a wide array of recreational activities. The successful attainment of 10 million visitors not only bolsters the nation's economy but also underscores the effectiveness of the Dominican Republic's tourism promotion efforts on a global scale.

According to the figures presented by the government of the country, in an event held at the Punta Cana International Airport, the Dominican Republic managed to exceed 10 million visitors thanks to the arrival of 7,863,542 tourists who arrived by air, plus some 2,168,209 cruise passengers.

The Dominican Republic is the country that has grown the most in tourist arrivals in the entire Caribbean region from 2019 to date, going from 6.4 million visitors to more than 10 million; It has also been recognized on several occasions by different international organizations as the number 1 country in terms of post-COVID tourism recovery.

The 10 millionth passenger was celebrated in a symbolic event in terminal B of the Punta Cana International Airport, with a flight from North America, which is the number 1 region in terms of tourists to the Dominican Republic.
